“Tiger Lilly was a name given by my dad… I was sour and I was sweet,” she shared, reflecting on the origin of her identity. More than just a name, it represents duality. Soft yet bold, delicate yet resilient. That same balance shows up in her artistry, blending emotional storytelling with confident, liberating energy.
Music has always been in her life, from childhood choir performances to a defining moment watching the Selena biopic. “After that, it was over… I said this is what I want to do,” she recalled. Inspired by Selena’s fearlessness in a male dominated industry, Tyger Lilly embraced her own path with the same determination. “She was fearless… so I’m like, the world is ours, let’s go!”
That fearlessness is most evident in her “Love Story” series, a deeply personal body of work born from heartbreak. What began as poetry during a breakup evolved into a full fledged musical experience, including a live band performance. “I’m not afraid to be vulnerable. Unlike her usual structured writing process, the track came from pure spontaneity. “He told me, just freestyle… sing how you feel,” she said of the studio session. The result is a feel good anthem that invites listeners to embrace their sensuality and joy. “I just want people to be free… feel sexy… be fearless.”
As an independent artist, seeing her music gain traction, especially on the radio, has been both surreal and affirming. “Words cannot describe how I feel… I’m just overwhelmed,” she admitted. For Tyger Lilly, it’s not just about recognition, it’s about connection. Her goal has always been to create music that resonates with real life experiences. “I know what I was saying… other people are going through it too. I just want people to heal.”
