Starz officially announced its plans to proceed with its next installment in the Power universe. A prequel, Power: Origins will center around Ghost and Tommy as young hustlers determined to make a name in the streets of New York City. The premiere is set to begin with 18 episodes and Mekai Curtis, star of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, will return as Kanan Stark.
“I’m excited to continue to explore the origin stories of the PowerUniverse’s founding fathers. Ghost and Tommy’s backstories have fueled years of constant fascination and speculation among fans, and I’m thrilled to be able to answer some long-held questions and share new layers of the story that viewers won’t see coming.” - Sascha Penn, showrunner, writer and executive producer, via statement.
“Our fans have been asking for Ghost and Tommy’s origins story since we first met them in Power — and with the launch of this series, we’re delivering in a big way. This marks an electrifying new chapter in the franchise’s evolution as we dive deep into the legacy of these iconic characters and the explosive moments that shaped their path.” - Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for STARZ
Michael Rainey Jr. in Power Book II: Ghost
The recent news comes ahead of the final season of Power Book IV: Force and follows the conclusion of Raising Kanan’s explosive fourth season. Power Book II: Ghost ended in 2024 but Michael Rainey Jr. has teased his reprisal in the future.
“However that happens — whether it is a little baby picture in Origins — I’m happy to bring Tariq to the screen for the people. So however that may be [possible],” he told PEOPLE in October 2024. “The [Power] universe, our universe never ends. We got Origins coming… It never ends.” - Michael Rainey Jr. via PEOPLE magazine in October 2024
It is currently unclear if Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora will return for Origins but Sikora has expressed interest in narrating. Similar to how 50 Cent does for Raising Kanan.

50 Cent Purchases Massive Facility to Create G-Unit Studios
50 Cent purchases of a massive facility to create G-Unit Studios is set to shake up the entertainment industry. We discuss it here!
By: Adonis Armstrong
Hip-hop mogul and businessman Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has made headlines for purchasing a massive 985,000-square-foot facility. He took to his instagram to show the early development of the facility that will be transformed into G-Unit Studios, a multi-purpose complex for music production, television, and film. The move is not entirely surprising, given 50 Cent's deep ties to the music and entertainment industries. He has previously launched successful ventures in both areas, including his record label G-Unit Records and his production company G-Unit Films.
“GLG🚦GreenLightGang G-unit film &Tv 💣BOOM 💨 I need room to work 🤷🏽♂️ I don’t miss 🎯 📺will never be the same. ”
G-Unit Studios is set to become a hub for creative talent, with state-of-the-art recording and production facilities, sound stages, and office space for writers, producers, and directors.
The new facility will undoubtedly give 50 Cent and his team more opportunities to expand their reach and take on new projects. In addition to music production and film, the complex will reportedly be used for television production and other creative endeavors.
Many are applauding 50 Cent's move as a positive step, which has the potential to create hundreds of jobs and provide a much-needed boost to the local economy. The transformation of the facility into G-Unit Studios is expected to take several months, and the finished product is sure to be impressive. With 50 Cent at the helm, there's no doubt that G-Unit Studios will become a major player in the entertainment industry, bringing new opportunities and possibilities to the wider world of music and film.
Last month, 50 Cent expressed regret about his success at Starz. Over the past decade, the network has aired several hit series produced by 50 Cent, including Power and Black Mafia Family. On Twitter last week, 50 Cent reflected on his success and admitted that he wishes he had created his TV universe at a different network. He also announced that he no longer plans to adapt any more BMF spin-offs or sell any other shows to Starz. According to 50 Cent, he has the top TV shows in African American and Latina households, but he regrets that he worked with the wrong people.
I have the number 1,2,3, and 4 top Tv shows in African American, and Latina households and i hate that i did them with the wrong people. I’m not doing any BMF spin offs or selling any other shows to STARZ. ✌🏽GLG🚦GreenLightGang #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi pic.twitter.com/65yBgYDpuZ

I wish nothing but the best for 50 Cent as he continues to be the great mogul as he continues to strive for the culture.
